As the name implies, a multifunctional fire nozzle has multiple functions, mainly including straight stream, spray and fog modes; the flow rate can also be adjusted to appropriate operating conditions according to fire fighting scenarios. The rotary nozzle head can switch between straight stream, spray and fog modes. In addition, flow rate adjustment and fog mode adjustment via the rotary nozzle head are two separate functions but interact with each other. At fire scenes, firefighters can use a single multifunctional fire nozzle to jet straight stream to extinguish open flames at a long distance, or use spray mode to cool down large areas and purify smoke in the air, without the need to switch nozzles. The manual pull switch facilitates opening and closing the nozzle, and the nozzle is equipped with an anti-twist connector, which can effectively prevent the nozzle from rotating along with the fire hose due to twisting caused by pulling.
Multifunctional fire nozzles are also referred to as recoilless fire nozzles in China's fire protection industry. The design purpose of such nozzles is to minimize recoil force as much as possible and prevent firefighters from being injured by recoil force.
